What a stretch

It seems to me that most of the pain problems that plague you and I fall under the category of "soft tissue" injury or trauma. I have heard the estimate is as high as 95%. That means it's a muscle.tendon, fascia or ligament problem not bone damage. That includes everybody's favorite complaint, low back pain which costs our economy billions every year in lost worker productivity. It's also a well known fact that the body will heal itself of just about every malady of this nature if it's allowed to... if the right conditions are met. One of the conditions to be met is a proper re-alignment of the affected bones and tissues in a given area. This means a strengthening of atrophied muscles and connective tissue and a stretching of hyper-tonic ( overly contracted/tightened) muscles and tissue. For instance the posture we refer to as "head forward"
( rounded shoulders, concave pectorals, drooping slumped forward head and neck) is one example of poor posture that often afflicts computer operators, weight lifters, bicyclists, and others that perform tasks that require a lot of time in this back rounded position. The result of this malady is neck , shoulder, and back pain for starters.
The solution is a combination of soft tissue manipulation ; different massage techniques , and some pretty vigorous fascial stretches. The combination of these two approaches along with practicing good posture, offers a pretty rapid solution to this almost daily nagging pain.
